Welcome to troop80alumni.org
| This site was inspired by the recent 80th birthday party for the retired Scoutmaster Jim Galbreath. The main purpose of this site is for past and present members of Troop 80 (Mountain View, CA) to be able to keep in contact with each other and schedule events. If you have suggestions for the site feel free to emai the Admin or Jon. I'll try to keep the site as updated as possible but it will be up to the members to make sure there is constant updates for events and news. |

So the site is being kept alive. But I don't provide content as I'm not active anymore. If people have stories, pictures, whatever that they wish to share about the troop they can feel free. Some things require approval to show up. If so, make sure you send me a PM to let me know I need to check something since I don't log in very often unless I get a notice. :)

A new Harris Interactive study shows that while many of today's youth are unprepared to make moral and ethical decisions, Americans who participated in the Boy Scouts of America are more likely to make the most ethical, but not always the easiest, choices.
The Values of Americans - A Study of Ethics and Character, commissioned by the Boy Scouts of America, highlights the values held by society. The Values of Americans study is a follow-up to the 1995 Harris Interactive research The Values of Men and Boys in America and provides a comparison of current American values with those of 10 years ago. The survey results reveal a clear picture of the values of American adults and youth.
Several key findings regarding the current state of American youth include:

Another note. This site has the ability to create sections of stories if you will. So if there are publications that you have, whether it be stories, articles, or any form of document that we can convert to html then we can post it on this site.

So I think I fixed all of the permission problems. Everyone should be able to add a calendar event now. Everyone can also add sub-albums to any main gallery I create. I have to make the main gallery though.
So I made the gallery for Jim's birthday party. If you took pictures and would like to share them feel free to create a sub-album titled so people will know who's pictures they are. Also please try to keep the original images up upload to approximately 1024x768 in size. This will help with your upload times and with the space consumption on the server as the site grows. Also the applet version of the file upload doesn't seem to work. But you can use the form option.
If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to email me at any time.

So I've been working on the site for a little while. I've got most of the modules installed that I figured would be needed. There are still some permission issues. Eventually I would like to make it so that everyone can add calendar events and galleries. But I'll let you know when that happens. I guess the documentation isn't always current. :)
But for now if you would like to either add an event, news or gallery just email me and I'll see about adding it.
